Meet Your Dietitian 

Valentine Reed-Johnson

Hi there and welcome! I’m Valentine, a Licensed Registered Dietitian. Congratulations on taking the first step towards great health.  My clinical experience at two major hospitals in New York has helped to optimize the nutrition status of in-patients with a wide variety of medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiac issues, GI complications, anti-cancer treatment symptom management, and much more. This has given me a broad experience of tailoring diets to individual needs. Now, in my latest position as Clinical Nutrition Coordinator, I am working with high-risk pregnancy out-patients to develop specific programs for the health of both mother and baby. Although I have great clinical knowledge, my strength and passion is wellness nutrition. 

It's essential in my profession to continue educating yourself and acquire a variety of specific certifications. I am currently Weight Management Certified and will continue striving for further certifications. As a wellness addict, you’ll see me at educational seminars, or writing as a regular contributor to an award winning blog. I am always keeping up with current nutrition information; my clients only get the best advice!  

I get it, you have a very busy lifestyle, and it’s much easier to order in, or go out (seamless is your kitchen!). Together we can bring the Mediterranean diet into your kitchen. I will show you how to revamp your lifestyle to achieve ultimate health. I see clients for all types of reasons including: weight loss, weight gain, and overall healthy lifestyle changes. The best part is, it’s easy and simple! It’s only a matter of how-to, but first I need to teach you the “why-to.” With my plan and guidance, you will see the results you are looking for!

Mission

I want to cater my specific Mediterranean Diet to flow with your current lifestyle. In doing so, we'll create a tailored plan to put you in your healthiest nutritional state ever. I like to see results, and I want you to see them too! But don’t worry—there won’t be any skimping on taste. We’ll put your taste buds to work with delicious recipes and all natural ingredients. Together we'll work to naturally increase your energy levels, mental clarity, quality of sleep, and overall well-being.

 

Goals

Individualizing a plan is the most important aspect of Valentine Nutrition. Since no one has the exact same physiology, and we all respond differently to what we put into our bodies, it makes sense that everyone's plan be different.  By working together we'll be able to develop specific, achievable, and measurable goals to fit into your lifestyle. Determining these goals will enable us to help you on your journey to success.

 

 

01.

consultation 

Firstly, we will need at least 45 minutes of your time to meet with you and get to know you. This will include determining your medical history, likes and dislikes, and overall lifestyle. You will then be provided with a food diary to complete daily, so that at the next visit we can see what a typical week is like for you. Your food diary will be a valuable tool to help us design a program especially for you.

02.

Preparation and observation 

You will return with your completed food diary so we can discuss it. At next visit we will have created a program for you based on your personal food preferences and daily schedule, as discussed in this session, to ensure that you can continue to enjoy most of your favorite foods, and have a plan that fits in with your life. 

03.

Plan IMPLEMENTATION

In this session, we provide you the plan and go over it in detail so that you feel confident and comfortable with your individualized program.You’ll then be ready to start!

04.

follow up

We will meet regularly to discuss what is working and what isn’t to determine how to go forward. The process is ever changing and adaptive. You will have access to your own personal dietitian for all questions and issues because we believe a positive support system is a crucial component of success.
